What a tragic suoiatitn for you and your father. My mother has been diagnosed with a dementia-like condition. The doctor calls it organic brain syndrome', but basically she's been losing her ability to remember. She shares some characteristics with your father. My mom also has times when she goes to bed and wakes up an hour or two later thinking that it's morning even though the sun's not up. And we constantly have to help her remember words and names of medicines and places. I'm trans and she's wonderfully accepting of me as her daughter, but I fear one day she won't remember that I have transitioned and that I'm the child she had who everyone thought was a boy. I fear that she'll ask about her son' and not know that I used to be him' so to speak.
